Greetings,
The past few months have been a blessing to me, as I grow in the Lord, and trust more and more on His grace to be sufficient in my everyday life. Having known a touch of His grace in my life, the Lord is now asking me to be a vessel of that grace for others.
Three years ago I had the pleasure of serving in Africa doing cross cultural missions with a radio organization called Trans World Radio (TWR) and I am planning to assist them once again for a period of five months.
What is Trans World Radio?
Speaking fluently in more than 200 languages and dialects, TWR exists to reach the world for Jesus Christ. TWR global media outreach engages millions in 160 countries with biblical truth. For nearly 60 years, God has enabled TWR to help lead people from doubt to decision to discipleship.
Together with international partners, local churches and other ministries, TWR provides relevant programming, discipleship resources and dedicated workers to spread hope to individuals and communities around the globe. Whether using high-powered AM, shortwave or FM radio, streaming content to Internet users or visiting face-to-face with listeners, TWR leaves a lasting spiritual footprint.
What will I be doing specifically?
My job includes: keeping the four studios in working order, maintaining the equipment as well as manuals, and recording anything that may be needed. This is a blessing to me as it is the same job I was trained for in Arizona and had the pleasure of doing in Nashville.
Why am I going?
I will be relieving the Audio and Acoustics Technician who will be away on furlough. The folks in South Africa are anxious to see someone join them, and I pray that the Lord will send me; if it be His will.
How can you help?
Well, the first and foremost way I would ask for your help in is the area of prayer. I may be going out in the field, but it is you who will be doing the brunt of the work. For Jesus said, "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it" (John 14:13-14). The power of prayer is amazing, and I would be afraid to go into the field without people here praying.
Secondly, I am in need of financial support. The projected expenses are as follows:
$1150.00 a month for housing, food, utilities, local travel, and taxes, plus travel expenses to and from South Africa. So we are looking at around $6000-$7000 for the entire time in South Africa. Now, this seems like a lot to come up with in just a few weeks, but God is able.
May I ask you to prayerfully consider becoming a part of my team? Enclosed is a response card for your convenience.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and to celebrate with me how the Lord is working. I will be in touch with updates if you indicate that you want to be involved.
Soli Deo Gloria,
Bud Driver
